Gold Red Footed Ramshorn Snail
Gold Red-Foot Ramshorn Snails – Unique and Efficient Clean-Up Crew for Freshwater Tanks
Gold Red-Foot Ramshorn Snails (Planorbella spp.) are a rare and stunning variety of ramshorn snail, known for their golden yellow shells and striking red foot. This color contrast makes them stand out beautifully in planted and aquascaped tanks, while also serving a functional purpose as part of your tank’s clean-up crew.
These snails are peaceful and highly effective at grazing on biofilm, soft algae, uneaten food, and decaying plant matter—helping maintain a clean and stable aquatic environment. They're especially popular in shrimp and nano tanks where their slime trails can act as a natural food source for shrimplets, supporting healthy shrimp colony growth.
They can even be cultured as live food for puffer fish, loaches and i’ve found Kribensis love them.
