Titan Stick Insect and Isopod Clean-up Crew
🦗 Titan Stick Insect with clean-up crew starter pack– Create an easy mini ecosystem for your stick insects.
Description:
The Titan Stick Insect (Acrophylla Titan) is a truly breath taking pet, known for its incredible size and jaw-dropping colours, they are subtle but they have hints of blue, pink, teal, mint green, purple spikes and my favourite feature violet and black underwings (As adults). Native to Australia, this fascinating insect mimics sticks or might I say WHOLE BRANCHES due to their incredible size as adults. This species is incredibly easy to care for enjoying daily spritzes of water and constant access to fresh gum leaves. Each pack includes one healthy, in-house bred Titan stick insect and a thriving starter colony of isopods (10 adults/advanced juveniles plus any babies already produced). It's a perfect combo for keepers wanting a more hands-off, bioactive setup that mimics nature and boosts success.
Create a cleaner, more natural habitat for your Titan stick insect with the help of isopods! Since introducing isopods into my enclosures, I've seen a huge improvement in maintenance and overall enclosure health. The isopods break down waste, meaning I no longer have to sift through poop to collect eggs — they simply fall to the floor and hatch naturally. I’ve even noticed faster hatch rates and better overall success with egg survival!
For care the enclosure will have to be set up with a soil layer at the bottom and leaf litter. The depth of the soil helps out with keeping the humidity up for stick insect eggs. I strongly recommend a drainage layer of rocks or leca for optimum success.
Titan Stick Insects are easy to care for, making them an excellent choice for intermediate keepers and insect enthusiasts alike. They are docile, slow-moving, and fascinating to observe, often swaying like branches in the wind to avoid predators. These herbivores thrive on a diet of eucalyptus, making their care both simple and rewarding providing you can accommodate for their size as adults, their enclosure should be 3x as tall as them and 2x the length and width of them. I highly recommend having a few different enclosures for them upgrading along the way to make sure they can easily find their food again if they wander off as babies. This can either be glass, mesh terrariums or as simple and cheap as a plastic storage tub with fly screen on one side.
